E9 6c by MacLeod, #83

Dave MacLeod has climbed Scotland´s second E9, completing his long term project in Glen Croe, Arrochar. The Fugue, E9 6c, climbs a 40 degree overhanging wall with a very hard crux move above some poor gear in a soft break. Dave was only able to link the route twice in a row on the top rope once, and led the route without the falls which characterized his last E9 (and Scotland´s first), Achemine at Dumbarton. Dave reckons the route is 8a+ to top rope but with a probable groundfall from the crux, warrants E9. Planet Climbing
