Winter is most certainly the time for mountain festivals. Over the weekend a very snowy North Wales saw Llanberis put together its most impressive list yet of films and speakers. Leo Houlding was on top of his lecturing game and performed to a full house. Joe Brown came out of his hideaway for the Rock and Ice Legacy. Also amazing to hear Doug Verity´s tales about his father – the great Yorkshire cricketer Hedley Verity….. Stick his name in google. Strange to think a Rock and Ice legend had a cricket legend as a father! Whilst this was going on Tim Emmett took a trip in a tandem paraglider from above the slate quarries. Then when 650ft above the Electric Mountain Centre jumped off……. Website

The event, due to take place next weekend in conjunction with a large scale bouldering competition held at three of London´s main climbing walls will still happen, but probably in October or November.
