by Mick Ryan Fred Nicole In 2005 Chris Sharma climbed an astonishing boulder problem across a 40ft roof in the Ozarks, near Jasper, Arkansas (USA). Witness The Fitness starts with a perfect jug then goes horizontal for 40ft using mushroom-like holds of iron hard sandstone to a perfect top out finish. Sharma compared it to the Hueco Tank´s (Texas) classicEsperanza, a V14, but longer and harder. Witness featured in Big Up Production´s Dosage 3 DVD and a clip can be seen at the Big Up Productions website and atYouTube.com. If you haven´t seen this clip it is worth checking out. Reports out of Arkansas say that the Swiss climber Fred Nicole has repeated Witness the Fitness. He completed the problem during his second trip to the area and it is reported that he broke two holds while working it. Source coloradoclimbs.com
