Planet-Climbing ususally prides itslelf on being first with the news, but can´t really boast to be the first this time, still, it was news to us, so here it is: Thailand´s long promised Krabi airport is now open. In fact it was opened in July 1999, so now you can get an internal flight from Bangkok. Krabi is the closest major town to the major climbing area of Phra Nang (detail in the travel section), and it is questionable as to whether this will be a good or bad thing in preserving the unique charm of the area.
