The penultimate round of the UIAA Leading World Cup took place in Penne in Italy over the weekend of the 11 and 12 of November. 16 year old David Lama from Austria took his second senior win but 3rd placed Flavio Crespi has what looks to be an un-assailable lead with just one round to go. If he climbs well in Kranj, Slovenia, this weekend he´ll walk away with the 2006 title, but a mistake could cost him dearly with Patxi Usobiaga and Tomás Mrázek within rank-changing point distance. In the women´s event Australian Angela Eiter has already been crowned the 2006 champion, but will surely compete this weekend in an attempt to add to her impressive tally of results. Men 1.
