Tim O´neil and Dean Potter have just broken the speed record for The Nose on El Cap. Taking 23 minutes off the previous record of 4 hours and 22 minutes held for almost ten years by Hans Florine and Peter Croft. The new record is a mere 3 hours 59 minutes, for a route that regularly takes three days, and only last week saw an ´in a day´ attempt by Brits Ian Parnell and Airlie Anderson end unsuccessfully just long of the golden 24 hours, which rather puts it into context.
