by Rob Naylor For those of you living in the south east, StephenVenables will be giving a talk/slideshow at the Stag Theatre in Sevenoaks, Kent,on 30th October at 8pm.The lecture is hosted by Tunbridge WellsMountaineering Club and entitled „Everest and Beyond“ – but while there will be a short element involving the „E“ word, the bulk of the talk will concentrateon his rescue from 20,000 ft on Panch Chuli with 2 broken legs and his crossingof South Georgia last year with Reinhold Messner and ConradAnker.Tickets are £4 for BMC or BMC affiliated members and £6 forothers. A limited number of youth tickets are available (subsidised by Nikwax and Paramo) for under-18s ordering through schools and/or youth groups.Tickets are available through the Stag box office on 01732 450 175 (youth groups should email Rob Naylor at rnaylor@itl.uk.com).Any profits will be donated to the Andy Fanshawe Memorial Trust, which aims to help kids get mountaineering experience.
