The highest and biggest climbing centre in the UK is being built in Sunderland, and will open in Jan 2003. Setting new standards, the wall will be a massive 23m high, 8m overhanging, with overhangs either side of 6m. Including a 20m wide cellar board bouldering section.Plans are in place for further phases of development over the forthcoming years. The new wall will host the BICC on 8th Feb 2003, and a big launch weekend is planned for 3/4/5 Jan 2003. Climbers can track what´s happening on www.sunderlandwall.co.uk or www.smartboysonline.co.uk
