by Mick Ryan – UKClimbing.com We´ve had another great response to one of our competitions. Thirty-four climbers entered the MARMOT “On Sight” Film Clip Competition. This was a creative competition: we have had writing competitions, a design competition, a photographic competition and for the first time a film competition. The brief was open; film and edit a short clip, up to 5 minutes, on any climbing or mountaineering theme. The entries were diverse. There were clips with an environmental message, bouldering, ice climbing, hill walking, crack climbing, multi-pitch, deep water soloing, historical, sport climbing, relationships, reminiscing, building a snowman and even one that featured a climbing machine that could actually produce art. This week Hugh Harris of Marmot UK , award-winning filmmaker Alastair Lee of Posing Productions and myself will be judging the entries. The prizes are: First Prize: £500 of Marmot Gear and two second prizes of £250.00 of Marmot Gear each. Everyone who entered will win a spot prize.
