Community Action Trek, Manaslu Circuit, Nepal Doug Scott will be leading a trek round the Manaslu circuit in Nepal this spring to raise money to build a health post and provide a teacher for poor Bhotia villagers close by the Tibetan border. The village of Li Gaon lies on the trek route – on the north side of Manaslu (8163m), eighth highest mountain in the world – and is the most remote so far to receive assistance from Scott?s charity, Community Action Nepal. Stunningly beautiful, the Manaslu circuit attracts far fewer visitors than the Annapurnas to the west. The trek runs from 29 March to 23 April, and £500 is being added to the cost of each place – this money will go directly to help Li Gaon. ?If we get a dozen people, that should meet the cost of the whole project,? said Scott. The total cost will be about £2,500 including flight from London.
