Hands & Feet Expedition Across Greenland Ice Cap

By Hands And Feet is an expedition currently mid way across the Greenland Ice Cap. planetFear Adventure Race editor and contributor Anna McCormack, and the multi tasking Andy Kirkpatrick are among the team. Co leading the group with Anna is Karen Darke. Karen happens to be paralysed from the chest down. Anna and Karen are both well known faces in the world of extreme sports and expeditions and have been involved in a number of other unique projects in the past. Karen is a previous recipient of the prestigious Winston Churchill Memorial Trust Award (for a hand cycling journey down the length of Japan) and Anna has been awarded the same Fellowship for her leadership of this project. The other well known UK member is Andy Kirkpatrick, renowned outdoor gear critique for Climb Magazine and hard-core climbing lecturer come entertainer. One hundred and seventeen years have past since Nansen´s first epic crossing of the mighty Greenland ice cap, a distance of over 600 km, yet even today this journey is still viewed as a mammoth undertaking. The Hands and Feet expedition is attempting to cross this vast empty artic desert in the same spirit as Nansen, hoping to push back the modern-day frontiers of knowledge, technology and exploration. You can check out their progress on their excellent website where Anna and Andy are making regular updates. ———————————————————————– If you have any news worth reporting please contact Matt – matt@planetfear.com / 0114 2969114 ———————————————————————–
