Amazing day for GB at the World Orienteering Championships

Today the GB Team surpassed all expectations to come away with a great set of results, and four PBs in today´s Sprint World Champs. Top of the pile was Helen Bridle with a fantastic 6th place (PB). Graham Gristwood was 9th (PB), Pippa Whitehouse 12th (PB), Sarah Rollins 16th, David Brickhill-Jones 17th (PB). Run of the day was undoubtedly Helen Bridle. It was easily her best ever international performance. Her 6th place ranks among some of the best British results of all time. She even got a kiss from the Prince of Denmark at the prize giving ceremony. Graham Gristwood also got his best ever result in an international (previous best 14th in World Cup, 11th at Junior World Champs). An excellent first part of the course left a chance for a podium result, but two small mistakes after the spectator control blew that. Nevertheless, 9th place is a great result making Graham only the 3rd British male to finish in the top 10 at a World Champs.
