With beta from the marvellous video Hard Grit (with Seb Grieve´s immortal 2nd ascent), Ben Heason has flashed Simon Nadin?s 1980?s Roaches test piece ?Paralogism? – the low roof on the right-hand side of the Upper Tier. The ascent was laudable for its purity – no ropes or even mats. Ben has already shown that he likes a challenge: in checking the routes at Froggatt for the new BMC guidebook he climbed most of them, sometimes solo and onsight, right up to the E7s.
