by BBC Reported by the BBC Plans to build one of Europe´s biggest wind farms on the Isle of Lewis are set to be turned down. More than 5,000 letters of objection to the proposals were received by the Scottish Government.It is believed environmental concerns are behind the decision.An official announcement from the Scottish Government is not expected for a further two or three weeks.The Scottish Wildlife Trust (SWT) has opposed plans for the 181-turbine development.It fears the proposed £500m development by Lewis Wind Power would destroy some of the world´s most extensive and intact areas of blanket bog.
