Scottish bouldering boom

Scotland appears to be undergoing an explosion of bouldering venues, with the usual Scottish climbing ingredients of amazing lines, unhelpful weather and a few midges. The main focus of developments has been in the Trossachs, where the crimpy Mica Schist is yielding some classic challenges. At Glen Massan, Dave MacLeod repeated Blade Runner Font 7b+, Redpath´s Extension Font 7c/7c+ and added the highball Broadsword Font 7c in a single session. At The rapidly developing Kennedy Boulder, MacLeod added The Hotline Font 7c+, along with several other 7b+ additions. MacLeod also visited the much whispered about Loch Sloy and added Free Energy Font 7b+, a problem to shout about! The area is reminiscent of The Pass and developments are sure to accelerate as the word spreads. Dave has also grabbed the second ascent of Cubby´s Beatle Back Font 7c in Glen Nevis, featured in ´Stick It´. Paul Savage continues to bag some big numbers, finally completing My Evil Twin Font 8a+ in a little known area near Dumfries. This success comes hot on the heels of a repeat of Diesel Power Font 8a.
