Sport Climbing Bonanza

The last couple of weeks have seen some serious sport climbing action around the world. Most notably both Edu Marin and Chris Sharma has repeated La Rambla, f9a+ at Siurana in Spain. They had both been working the problem with Dave Graham, Yuji Hirayama and Dani Andrada, possibly the strongest gathering of climbers ever! Given that Sharma got the third ascent pretty quickly it is being speculated that his recent DWS project in Mallorca must be f9b! Ramon Julian Puigblanque recently managed to climb 10 routes graded 8b+ or more in the space of 4 days! Yoshi Verhoeven flashed Kirrida, f8c, in Osp after finishing 4th in the last round of the Leading World Cup in Kranj, Slovenia. And last, but not least Patxi Usobiaga has climbed another f9a, Begi Puntuan, in Etxauri, most notable because he has now climbed eleven routes graded f8c+´s or harder in 2006, and seven routes graded f8b+ or harder onsight!
