4th Brit sends the Mandala

Miles Gibson has just returned from a successful trip to the American bouldering Mecca of Bishop. Holiday highlight was his ascent of the modern extreme classic Mandala, 8A+,snatched on the last day of his stay. On his first try Miles made it through the crux but blew the flash while trying to control a footless swing off the problems notorious “razor crimps”. After a day of unsuccessful attempts Gibson returned with the diminutive Lynn Hill as spotter and sent the 30 degree overhanging prow first go. News courtesy of Planet Climbing
