A Hip-Hop Climbing Song

by Mick Ryan No Change There is a long tradition of climbing songs from Tom Patey to modern bards like Dennis Grey and Marc Chrysenthou. But now climbing songs have been dragged screaming (actually rapping) into the 21st century by a rap artist from Leeds. Nick Rafferty or to give him is rap name, No Change, wrote and produced ´the Climbing Song´ as a start-up song for a climbing competition to fire up the crowd. Nick is a snowboarder/skateboarder but his dad, Chip Rafferty is very much a mountaineer. Chip is an army training coach, top 20 finisher in the London marathon, triathlon champion and his next quest is to climb and ski down the Himalayan peak, Shishapangma (8027 meters) in September 2007.
