by Jack Geldard Alpinist Magazine housed all of its stock in the Kable News Company´s Distribution Centre, Oregon, USA.On the 5th of December the whole building was engulfed in flames.A fork lift truck damaged a gas meter – sending gas in to a heater, starting a fire. Over 200 fire-fighters were needed to battle with the blaze, which spread quickly through the wooden building.All of the Alpinist stock was destroyed, including 2008 calendars, magazine back issues and other Alpinist merchandise.
