by BMC and Mick Ryan Matt Triolett On September 13th Matt Triolett organised a crag clean up at Widdop (in Lancashire) and at the same time opened up some neglected bouldering at this premiere gritstone crag. Details: Widdopstock Staying north, on 28th September there´s more cleaning up at Egerton Quarry near Bolton where the work over the last couple of years has rejuvenated this now popular venue. Details: Egerton Quarry clean-up Old news perhaps, but a double thumbs up to the Northumbrian Mountaineering Club who cleared pines from Dark Side of Back Bowden Doors (Cockenheugh) in August. Details: ´TIMBER…´ at Back Bowden In fact, all around the UK climbers are pulling together and making a positive impact on our climbing environment. All it takes is a few motivated individuals to spread some enthusiasm, and a little guidance from the BMC, and we become not only users of the UK´s cliffs, but guardians.
