The classic race at the orienteering World Cup Final was held on an area of volcanic rock called ´Vulcania´, and provided a very technical and physical challenge. Nobody was able to stop the Frenchman Thierry Georgiou or the Swiss multiple world champion Simone Niggle-Luder storming to victory. Best British performances were Jon Duncan in 17th place and Helen Bridle in 20th place. With only 1 race left in the World Cup, it is looking good for both Georgiou and Luder. Tomorrow will see the World Cup Final – a rescheduled middle race.
