Simpson snags tailor-made project in Spain

by Mick Ryan Richard Simpson Richard Simpson continues his roll, his strict training regime and high performance on rock, all whilst holding down a job like the rest of us. On holiday in Spain at Siurana he has just completed a first ascent of a line that had been bolted ten years ago and attempted by Dani Andrada, Ramonet Juilian and Iker Pou, all climbers who have redpointed Fr 9a. He has given A Muerte Fr 8c+/9a, it is a 20m route that overhangs and consists of long reaches between small pockets, bouldering and technical moves on sharp and sometimes slopey holds with a high probability of falling off. You can read almost constant updates on Rich´s trip and training regime at Moon Climbing. Go to the School Room and the Moon Blog.
