by Mick Ryan Lynn Hill If you are around Italian town of Arco, Trentino on the weekend of September the 1st there are two climbing events that may be worth your while visiting. The 20th Rock Masters climbing competition is being held that weekend and on the Friday night there will be a special awards ceremony, the Arco Rock Legends sponsored by Salewa. Similar to Climbing magazine´s Golden Piton Award, the Salewa Rock Award will be presented to the climber “who has distinguished him/herself most at the crag, both for the results obtained, the style and how he/she has influenced the sports climbing movement,” chosen by several of the world´s climbing magazines (none British). The climbing competition award is being sponsored by Sportiva. More information at the Rock Masters website
