Berghaus is supporting Thomas Huber in his attempt to make the second ascent of the mighty Ogre in Pakistan. Chris Bonington and Doug Scott´s epic first ascent was made in 1977. Berghaus have developed a section of their website to bring live reports and photographs to the UK.The Ogre is not only an incredibly difficult mountain to climb, it is also very remote, and Thomas is using the latest in satellite and digital technology to send back his updates. The likes of Sir Chris Bonington, Alan Hinkes, Leo Houlding and Thomas´ brother Alex all have major plans for the next 12-18 months and Berghaus will be doing its best to publicise their exploits. The microsite can be accessed via the Berghaus homepage at www.berghaus.com and will run for the entirety of the Ogre 2001 Expedition.
