A new adventure begins in Valle di Daone! From 26 – 30 January 2005
the Italian valley will once again be the world's center stage for ice
climbing, just like it was when it hosted three magnificent stages of
the Ice Climbing World Cup in 2001, 2002 and 2003.
During five intense competition days the best athletes in the world
will gather in Daone to contend for the World Ice Bouldering Champion
and European Ice Bouldering Champion title. And they will be joined by
all those ice climbers who take part in the seventh La Sportiva Ice
Meeting Pareti di Cristallo, which takes place on the surrounding 136
ice falls. This year the organising committee has also prepared an
Educational Area entitled “Children and mountains.” School children
will be given the opportunity to enjoy the Valle di Daone mountains
closer than ever before.
The Pareti di Cristallo Committe is, as always, headed by Candido and
Romolo Grezzi and comprised of a large number of volunteers and
Maurizio Gallo, chief engineer of the large artificial ice structure.
Together with Riccardo Milani, sporting director of the event, they are
the body and soul of these great international meetings that rightly
render Daone the world's ice climbing capital.
Join us for five days of international competition climbing, in harmony
with nature, the mountains and, how could we forget, the proverbial
welcome and hospitality of the entire Valle di Daone.
