Man injured after Durdle Door jump

A man ended up unconscious on the seabed after jumping from Durdle Door in Dorset. The man, 26, climbed up the Durdle Door rock and egged on by three friends jumped off the 65ft cliff.Durdle door is a popular Dorset climbing venue; several of the routes on the seaward side of the arch have been deep water soloed. A holidaymaker saw the jumper unconscious and fitting [having a fit] on the sea bed and dived down and pulled him to the surface.  The rescue is very likely to have saved the man?s life, emergency services said.  Police said the man remained in hospital, but his injuries were not thought to be life-threatening.A doctor on the beach stabilised the man, who is from Weymouth, before emergency services arrived and he was airlifted to hospital in a coastguard helicopter. Between 1997 and 2004 1,226 people were admitted to hospital after diving or jumping into water in England, according to RoSPA.
