Absolutely awesome!“Is how an ever-psyched Tim Emmett described the new Pembroke E8 Point Blank first climbed by Dave Pickford just over two weeks ago.(See UKC News Item – Pickford Shoots To Kill).It will definitely go onsightTim Emmett Tim climbed the route after some pre-inspection, but still fell on his first lead attempt, taking a long, but relatively safe fall. He climbed it second try, making the second ascent.“I looked down between my legs and the gear was miles away. I thought… Oh No!“ he laughed, as he described his ascent.The route has all the hallmarks of a future hard classic; good gear, a huge but safe-ish fall and difficult but not super-technical moves.Tim described the route as like „doing two F7c's on top of each other, but with a 50ft fall“.Point Blank is route number 4 in the topo shown below:
